Nuclear

Alike Thermal power plants, Nuclear power plants generate electrical power by converting the heat energy into kinetic energy. Instead of using the heat produced by coal or natural gas, nuclear power plant uses the heat released by nuclear fission reactions, Uranium – 235 or Plutonium when split under strictly regulated operating conditions, to drive steam turbines.

Nuclear power plants account for 11% of the world’s electric power with over 440 commercial power plants operable in 31 countries since the introduction of the first nuclear power plant in 1950s.
